Gym Warriors Expands into Early Childhood Centres
Gymnastics WA’s Gym Warriors program is getting young kids moving in WA!
We are looking for club coaches accredited intermediate and above to help us deliver the Gym Warriors program in Early Childhood Education and Care services (ECECs) across the state. Our new partnership with The University of Western Australia’s (UWA) KIDDO Program teaches children physical literacy and gets kids active. Based on the latest research, the program upskills coaches to deliver a program that develops children’s fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, catching and throwing the right way!
The 3-hour online training is free of charge (RRP $199) for our accredited coaching community and upon completion, coaches will receive a KIDDO Certificate of Physical Literacy and have the skills, knowledge and resources to start delivering Gym Warriors sessions in ECECs on behalf of Gymnastics WA.
Gymnastics WA’s Marketing Manager, Adelaide Jackson is thrilled with the response from ECECs. “We have had an overwhelming response from both metropolitan and regional Early Childhood Education and Care centres in WA. There are numerous centres who are ready and raring to start Gym Warriors in their centre and get their kids moving. Now we need our accredited Gymnastics coaching community to get onboard, access the free KIDDO training and get coaching!
There are so many benefits for clubs and coaches alike. Our coaching community can access the training free of charge, complete it in their own time and learn the latest research on how to develop children aged birth – 4 years. It’s a great opportunity to facilitate a pathway between local participants and to continue developing their skills by joining a Gymnastics Club at the completion of the program. Coaches will be fully equipped with the lesson plans and resources to take their coaching game to the next level.”
