The Gymnastics WA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Emily Randall as the new Executive Director, Gymnastics WA. Mrs Randall brings to the position over 15 years of experience in managing and leading teams across a variety of industries.
“We are privileged to have an exceptional person who is passionate and experienced in sport and business joining the Gymnastics WA team as our new Executive Director," said Desiree Jones, Gymnastics WA President. "Mrs Randall's wide range of knowledge from building a start-up through to a successful business, working within a State Sporting Organisation and being a former dual elite athlete, will provide great benefits to our Association.”
“Her strong leadership and communication skills coupled with experience in business and strategic planning, project and event management, governance, and high level management of strategic and commercial partnerships all align with advancing our organisation's strategic direction,” said Ms. Jones.
Previous to joining Gymnastics WA, Mrs Randall held the position of General Manager Commercial Operations at Swimming Western Australia, a diverse role responsible for managing and overseeing all business operations, including sponsorship, partners and key stakeholder relations.
In 2014, Mrs Randall established a highly successful catering and retail food company called Blossum, specialising in wholesale food production, events catering as well as a gourmet deli. Building a business from scratch allowed Mrs Randall to develop skills in numerous areas including financial management, marketing and promotion, event management and human resources.
Mrs Randall also brings firsthand experience in the high performance sports pathway, previously involved holding dual WAIS scholarships in in both Water Polo and Sprint Kayaking at an elite level. Sport plays an integral part in Mrs Randall’s personal life, being a two time iron-woman triathlete and only recently completing the Rottnest Swim in February 2020 as a solo swimmer.
“I am excited to join the Gymnastics WA team and look forward to contributing to a stronger future for Gymnastics in Western Australia,” said the new Executive Director.
As Executive Director, Mrs Randall will continue to develop and implement the long-term strategic plans for Gymnastics WA, including building participation and membership, strengthening strategic partnerships and providing strong foundations for the growth of gymnastics in Western Australia. She will also bring a fresh approach to leadership across the organisation, providing direction and guidance to the Gymnastics WA staff.
Mrs Randall will commence the role of Executive Director with Gymnastics WA on 29 September 2020.
