Gymnastics Western Australia (WA) is the State governing body for gymnastics. Established in 1955, Gymnastics WA's mission is to promote, develop and grow gymnastics for the enjoyment of all. Encompassing eight gymnastics, being the four Olympic disciplines of Women's and Men's Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline Gymnastics, together with Aerobic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics and Gymnastics for All, gymnastics really does provide opportunities for all Australians.
With the third highest female membership base of organised sport within Australia, gymnastics continues to provide children the opportunity to learn fundamental movement skills. From KinderGym programs which teach children how to master these skills through to high performance programs and Olympic Medal goals, gymnastics stretches the entire sporting landscape.
Gymnastics WA has more than 20,000 registered athlete members, with 94 per cent of the athlete members under the age of 12 (32 per cent are under the age of five) and 77 per cent of the membership being female.
Gymnastics programs are delivered in more than 53 clubs across WA, ranging all the way from Esperance to Broome.
Participation programs delivered by Gymnastics WA are specifically designed to provide fun, fitness, friendship and fundamental movement skills in a safe and positive environment, and are suited to Australians of all ages and abilities.
Gymnastics WA is also committed, through the delivery of quality services and products, to provide a framework that encourages the training and continuous improvement of affiliated clubs and accredited coaches and judges.
Gymnastics WA is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children and young people
accessing our programs and services including indigenous children, those from culturally and linguistically diverse
backgrounds and children and adults with disability.
Gymnastics WA, together with Gymnastics Australia and all member State and Territory Associations have a zero tolerance approach to any form
of child abuse. We support the rights of children and we will act immediately to ensure an environment is maintained
where children and all participants feel safe, respected, valued and empowered at all times.
