Gym Warriors Coaches

We are expanding our pool of part-time and casual Gym Warriors Coaches for 2023 to deliver the Gym Warriors program throughout metro and regional WA at schools, community events, clubs and early childcare centres.

The Gym Warriors Coach’s role plays a key part in increasing Gymnastics WA’s exposure through participation activities in the wider WA community. The role requires an enthusiastic, engaging person or Warrior who will champion recreational gymnastics in the community, working with children and young people to increase participation in gymnastics through fundamental movement. If you are passionate about gymnastics and want to release your inner warrior by delivering programs to children then we want to hear from you!
 
Gymnastics WA is the peak body for the sport of gymnastics in Western Australia. It provides the opportunity for anyone interested in fun, fundamental movement, fitness and friendships to participate in gymnastic programs, competitions, development programs and activities which are accessible to all, no matter their experience, skill, age or ability level. Pathways are also provided for individuals who strive for intrastate, state, or the ultimate, national selection representing Australia at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and other international events. 

Position requirements include (but are not limited to):
Gymnastics Australia Intermediate Coaching Accreditation, Gymnastics for All is desirable.
Gymnastics Australia Beginner Coaching Accreditation applicants are encouraged to also apply
Experience in delivering recreational gymnastics programs to a high volume of students
Experience coaching a range of age groups with varying skills, abilities, and backgrounds
Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with clubs, schools, and stakeholders
Ability to think on your feet and work in adapting environments
Fantastic verbal and communications skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
All round fun, engaging, and enthusiastic Gymnastics Warrior
Available to work school hours (8.30 am – 3.30 pm) and some weekend events
Current Working with Children Card

Events and Competition Coordinators

An exciting opportunity has become available for TWO Events and Competition Coordinators to join the team at Gymnastics WA. One position is a permanent full time, the other position is a maternity cover contract until October 2023.

The Governance and Nominations Committee is pivotal to ensuring that Gymnastics WA’s Board operates with effective governance and as a high-performing Board.  

To be considered for either role you would need to have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

You will also need to demonstrate: 
- Experience working in the sport and recreation and/or events sector
- Proven Customer Service experience and communication skills
- The ability to deliver events, initiatives and/or projects
- An understanding of preparing and reporting to budgets
- Drive, passion and initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A passion for volunteers and an understanding of the culture of a volunteer based organisation
- Current Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Card
- National Police Clearance

You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a range of Gymnastics WA events and activities, and will contribute to driving gymnastics initiatives which link to the Gymnastics WA Strategic Plan.

This will include, but not be limited to:
- Coordination of metro and regional events including: planning, preparation, logistics, delivery and evaluation
- Annual reviews of event structures, policies, manuals, processes and forms
- Preparing budgets for individual events and activities
- Setting up required scoring programs for each event and ensuring they meet the requirements of the sport
- Being involved in the recruitment and retention of volunteers
- Compiling articles for the Gymnastics WA website, social media and other communication channels when required

WAG Competitive Coach

Want to make a difference in a regional club? 

If you are passionate about shaping athletes and providing a safe, motivating but challenging environment for athletes to strengthen their athletic talents and develop themselves as a whole, all while being part of a supporting community, Horizon wants to hear from you!

Horizon is currently seeking coaches to lead and further strengthen their competitive gymnastics programs on a casual basis.

They are looking for coaches with:
- Intermediate or above WAG accreditations
- A Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- The ability to work as a team and a willingness to learn

They can offer:
- WAG Level 4/5
- Minimum 9 hours a week
- Further training and qualification where applicable
- Live and work in the magnificent Margaret River Region

GfA Coaches

Perth's newest gymnastics club, Perth Gymnastics Academy, is currently seeking GfA coaches to join their team. PGA is new, however was built on a strong existing structure and they are enjoying much success as a club. Following their recent and rapid growth to almost 350 members and a highly successful year, PGA is expanding and looking for coaches to join their professional and supportive team.

Development and Squad Coach

PGA is expanding and looking for a coach to join their professional and supportive team. PGA is new and was built on a strong existing structure, and they are enjoying much success as a club. 

The position requires an advanced accreditation or higher, and will be responsible for the development and planning of their junior squad and development gymnasts (NL5 and above) following the Gymnastics Australia, Australian Levels Program. In addition to coaching hours the successful applicant will be allocated additional professional hours to plan, forecast, maintain records, and attend meetings as required in the role.
